This New Moon is all about a fresh start…but on a deeper level, it’s about understanding fate’s role in our beginnings. That’s because this is the second New Moon we have had in Aries this year.
The ruler of last month’s Aries lunation was Mars in Gemini, so it suggested thinking about where we’d like to go next. But this one is an eclipse (all about releasing control) and it’s instead ruled by Mars in Cancer, begging us to forge the path ahead with feeling and intuition over logic.
These dueling New Moons in Aries first asked us to confront the practical approach to a new beginning, and now we’re meant to release control and let the Universe show us what happens next! Ritual work (like manifesting) is futile at this time because it’s not only an eclipse, but an eclipse at an anaretic degree. If there was ever a time to trust the Universe while approaching unknown territory…it’s NOW!
You can also make a note of the corresponding Aries Full Moon that will happen on August 30th, 2023. This is the time you’ll really see the seeds planted now coming into bloom. It might also be helpful to reflect on the first New Moon in Aries we experienced just last month.
